Program Overview – Year 1

New England Christian Academy is proud to announce our technology partnership with the University of Richmond and Boston University. This partnership provides our students with the finest technology education available today. Components of our program include:

 

Integration Training for Teachers

 

A comprehensive teacher training program designed to develop our teachers’ skills in instructional theory, curriculum integration and application software. Our teachers earn continuing education credits for their participation in our technology workshops.

 

Integrated Curriculum

 

Our technology program is based on over 350 literacy objectives in nine different     technology areas. Curriculum is designed to be integrated with our classroom studies so our students use the computer as a tool to develop projects and presentations.

 

Curriculum Delivery Support

 

Our staff is trained and supported by an experienced staff of technology coordinators from the universities who provide   valuable assistance to all areas of our   technology program development.

 

University Website Support

 

With the University WebLinks program, our teachers, students and parents have     access to a dedicated website with over 1,200 of the best educational websites, maintained by the universities.

Students combine word processing and graphics design skills to create an illustrated report.  Internet research and desktop publishing skills are used to create a historical timeline project.

 

Unit 2: Surveys & Statistics

Mathematics/Science

Students use a variety of survey data to create spreadsheets and input formulas.  They learn how to visually display their data by producing charts and graphs to enhance their classroom presentations.

Students use desktop publishing skills to create an illustrated newsletter that includes comprehensive layout and design, Internet research, WordArt and imported graphics.

 

Unit 4: Multimedia Field Trip

Social Studies
