Talbots

Associate Scholarship Fund
(For Children of Talbots, Inc. Associates)

The Talbots Charitable Foundation is pleased to offer a scholarship program providing financial assistance to the children of Talbots associates. Each year, 10 scholarships are granted to graduating high school seniors enrolled in a full-time undergraduate study program at a college, university or vocational school. Over 170 scholarships have been granted since the program’s inception. The awards include nine $2,000 scholarships and one $5,000 for the top applicant receiving the Zetcher Excellence Award. Awards are given annually and are not renewable. Children of retirees are eligible; children of officers and directors are not eligible.

Talbots Women’s Scholarship Fund

In keeping with Talbots belief in the power of education, the Talbots Charitable Foundation is proud to offer a scholarship fund for women looking to pursue a college education later in life. To date, over $1 million in scholarships have been awarded to deserving women ranging in age from their late 20s to 60s.

In 2009, over 3,000 women applied for scholarship funding through this program, with six women receiving a $10,000 scholarship and 60 women receiving a $1,000 scholarship. Applications for the 2009 program closed January 2, 2009, and each winner was notified in June 2009. Details on the awards and application process for the 2010 program will be posted this fall so please check back.

The Talbots Women’s Scholarship Fund is open to U.S. and Canadian residents. All applicants must be seeking an undergraduate degree from an accredited two- or four-year college or university or vocational-technical school. Scholarship awards are based primarily on financial need and previous achievements for women who earned their high school diploma or GED at least 10 years ago.
